Two held over €1.5m cocaine find

Cocaine believed to be worth €1.5 million was seized during a drugs raid last night, detectives said.

A man and a woman - both 23 - were arrested during the search at Clondalkin,  west Dublin.

The Garda National Drugs Unit and the Drug Unit at Clondalkin Garda station raided a house in the suburb this afternoon.

Around 22 kilograms of cocaine along with a mixing agent, a drug pressing machine and other drug items were recovered.

The man and woman are being detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Clondalkin Garda station.

"The estimated value of the drugs seized pending analysis is €1.5 million euro," a Garda spokesman said.
