Two men had to be rescued from the MacGillycuddy's Reeks in Co Kerry this morning after getting into difficulties while descending from Carrauntoohil.
The men, both in their 30s and from Dublin, became stuck in a remote area of the Black Valley after falling down a steep incline.
They raised the alarm by mobile phone last night, and a 50-strong rescue team, led by Kerry Mountain Rescue Team, began a search. The two were located at 5.30am and brought down the mountain by stretcher.
The men, who reportedly suffered head injuries, were taken to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee.
