Two 14-year-old boys have received hospital treatment after being attacked in separate incidents on Monday night.

The first occurred in Ardowen, near Craigavon, Co Armagh, when five masked men forced their way into a youth's home. The youth was beaten with a stick and suffered multiple bruising. He was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children.

In the second incident a youth was set upon by three men who handcuffed, beat and covered him in paint in an attack in Dundonald, on the eastern outskirts of Belfast. It took nurses three hours to remove the paint.
