Ankara - Turkey yesterday said the Paris city council's decision to erect a monument commemorating the Ottoman genocide of Armenians in 1915 would further damage Turkish-French relations.

This month Paris followed a vote in the French parliament to recognise the Armenian claims of genocide. Turkey's State Grain Board yesterday said it was excluding French bids from grain tenders due today.

Turkey cancelled a satellite contract with a French firm last week.
