About 200 American soldiers were forced to stay overnight in the Limerick area last night after the American Transair plane carrying them from Bosnia to the US was grounded at Shannon Airport when a problem was discovered during a refueling stop.

The soldiers were accommodated in local hotels while the necessary part was flown in. They are expected to leave Shannon about 10 a.m. today.
