Tributes paid to retiring judge

Tributes were paid yesterday at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to Judge A.G. Murphy, who is retiring.

Tributes were paid yesterday at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to Judge A.G. Murphy, who is retiring.

Judge Murphy has presided over cases at the Civil and Circuit Court in Cork since 1986 and was described by Mr Don McCarthy SC as a man of patience and warmth. "A hallmark of your lordship's life and times would be your courtesy and compassion. You have displayed compassion both for accused and victims over the last 15 years," he said.
