MIXING high art and popular culture, the Belfast Festival at Queen's rolls into its second week, with something to cater for most tastes. This week promises a treat for dance fans, with two new pieces, Trespass and Affections, by the distinguished choreographer Siobhan Davis, created in collaboration with the Irish composer Gerald Barry. The more traditional fare of Cinderella will be given lavish treatment by The Royal Ballet of Flanders with the Ulster Orchestra performing Prokofiev's fairytale score.
From teenyboppery with Slik to the synth-rock of Ultravox, Midge Ure has survived two decades of rock'n'roll, and brings his own brand of Celtic twilight to Belfast on Thursday. Stephen Berkoff's acclaimed play, Metamorphosis, is revived by Big Telly Theatre Company at the Lyric, while the versatile actor, writer and comedian, Owen O'Neill, returns to his Northern roots on Friday.
