Iarnrod Eireann has rejected suggestions that a faulty door caused an accident which claimed the life of a woman

Iarnrod Eireann has rejected suggestions that a faulty door caused an accident which claimed the life of a woman. Ms Claire Walsh (26), of Lansdowne Park, Ennis Road, Limerick, died when she fell from a train on Tuesday night. She was returning from a holiday in Mexico when the accident happened near Limerick Junction.

A spokesman for the company said the door had been checked and was in "perfect working order". An Iarnrod Eireann investigation is continuing, but the spokesman said that because of the nature of the incident the cause may never be known.
