THE IN-PORT racing, which counts towards final scoring in the Volvo Ocean Race, is expected to take a course off Barna, Co Galway, today due to the weather forecast.

Light southerly winds should suit the Irish entry, Green Dragon, and the Spanish entry, Telefonica Blue, according to Nowcasting Weather, which is providing official forecasts for Galway.

The in-port challenge from 1pm will be broadcast live on TG4 television and will be preceded by an aerial display by the RAF Red Arrows flying team, which has been brought forward to 11.30am.

Many events on land and at sea continue over the bank holiday weekend.
