Three people are being treated in hospital following a fresh outbreak of Legionnaires' disease.

The three people were admitted to Sandwell General Hospital in the West Midlands yesterday, where their condition is not thought to be serious.

Dr John Middleton, director of public health for the Sandwell area, said: "A team of public health officials are investigating the source of the outbreak to find it as quickly as possible". The outbreak has not come from the hospital, he says.

The three cases come less than a month after the British biggest outbreak of Legionnaire's disease which claimed the lives of four people.
