Three people who were arrested in connection with an assault in Cork city last month have been released. A file is being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Two men and one woman were arrested in Douglas, and detained in Togher Garda Station in relation to the assault on Mr Denis Franklin, a 20-year-old student at Cork Institute of Technology.
Mr Franklin, who is from Pallasgreen in Limerick, was found unconscious by gardaí at Kifts Lane off Grand Parade in Cork city shortly after 2 a.m. on February 17th.
He incurred severe head injuries after a row broke out among a number of youths in South Main Street at 1 a.m. The argument moved up to Grand Parade.
Mr Franklin, who is being treated at Cork University Hospital, remains in a critical condition.
