Tehran - Tehran authorities have told children and the elderly to avoid going outside unless necessary because air pollution in the Iranian capital has reached alarming levels, state radio said yesterday.
The Tehran Environmental Protection Department urged children and heart and asthma patients to stay indoors as a thick cloud of smog descended on one of the most polluted cities in the world.
