Teen 'stable' after Dublin stabbing

A 17-year-old male is recovering in hospital after being stabbed a number of times in Dublin last night.

A 17-year-old male is recovering in hospital after being stabbed a number of times in Dublin last night.

The teenager was walking on Marewood Crescent in Ballymun at about 9pm when a car pulled up alongside him.

A number of men got out of the vehicle and attacked the youth. He sustained a serious stab wound to his back and was also wounded on the back of the head and hands.

He was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

Gardaí from Ballymun are investigating the incident. The scene of the attack is to undergo a forensic examination today.

No arrests have been made in connection with the attack and the weapon has not yet been recovered.
