THE Tanaiste, Mr Spring, returned to Ireland from the EU summit in Amsterdam yesterday after his teenage son, Aaron, was taken to hospital. Aaron, a boarding pupil at Mount St Joseph's in Roscrea Co Tipperary, was being treated at Nenagh General Hospital, after developing a sudden illness. A hospital spokesman last night described his condition as "comfortable".
A "domestic emergency" prompted Mr Spring's departure, a source said, but he declined to speculate on the teenager's illness.
