Gardai investigating the death of a Somali man, whose headless body was found in Dublin's Royal Canal, were questioning a 50-year-old woman today after charging another woman with his murder.
The second woman was arrested in Co Carlow this morning, as mother-of-four, Linda Mulhall, with an address at Kilclare Gardens in Tallaght was charged with the murder of 38-year-old Farah Swaleh Noor.
Ms Mulhall was brought before the Dublin District Court after being arrested this morning and charged with the murder of the Somalian national in March at the Richmond Cottages in Ballybough.
She was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody to appear in court again on September 21st next.
Mr Swaleh Noor's remains were discovered on March 30th, 2005 in refuse bags dumped in the Royal canal.
The man's torso, arms and legs were found but despite extensive searches of the canal his head is still missing. It is believed the man had been dead for more than a week before the extremely decomposed remains were discovered wrapped in black plastic.
The man who had been living in Ireland since 1996, was living in Richmond Cottages off the North Circular Road in Dublin, however, he had a number of addresses throughout the city.
Gardai said the 50-year-old woman, who was arrested in Co Carlow, has been brought to Mountjoy Garda Station in Dublin for questioning and can be detained for 12 hours.
