Letterkenny Urban District Council is to seek a meeting with the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Harney, on the future of the Gaeltex clothing factory which has not re-opened after the annual August break. The firm, which lost more than £150,000 last year, is going into voluntary liquidation and 85 jobs are at risk. However, SIPTU officials say its order books are full until next June.
