A suspected dissident republican will appear in court tomorrow on terrorism charges after police in Northern Ireland seized weapons and a substantial amount of cash.

The 41-year-old man was arrested during searches in Coalisland, Co Tyrone yesterday.

As well as recovering a small number of guns in the raids, Organised Crime Branch detectives discovered around £68,000 (€99,500).

The man was taken for questioned at a holding centre in Antrim.

He was charged today with possession of money or property for the purposes of terrorism and concealing criminal property under the Proceeds of Crime Act. He will appear at a special sitting of Dungannon Court tomorrow morning.

Police said the money seized has also been the subject of a detention application in Court under the same Act.
