British police were today investigating a suspected arson attack at a second division football club's new stadium.
About £40,000 worth of damage was caused during the blaze in the roof of Oxford United's new ground in Grenoble Road, Oxford, last night.
A police spokesman said roof insulation had caught light at about 7.30 p.m.
"At the moment the fire is of doubtful origin but we'll need to carry out more detailed investigation before we can be sure of the cause," he said.
