RANGOON - Classes were suspended at Rangoon universities and a large area of the city remained sealed off yesterday following the most defiant student demonstrations seen in Burma since the military crackdown in 1988.
About 300 students from suburban Dagon University were blocked by armed police and troops as they tried to make their way to the campus.
