An exchange student charged with having child pornography in his possession was remanded on continuing bail before Galway District Court yesterday.
Kin Young Hoon (22), 8 Lurgan Park, Renmore, Galway, a South Korean, is charged with having child pornography, at Oldfield, Kingston, Knocknacarra, Galway, on September 12th, contrary to Section 6 (1) of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998.
Defending solicitor Mr Adrian MacLynn said his client was an exchange student who was being sponsored to stay in Ireland.
He was granted legal aid.
Garda Insp Tom O'Brien asked to have the accused further remanded on bail for four weeks to complete a Garda investigation.
Judge John Garavan remanded the defendant on continuing bail to appear before the court again on October 22nd.
