Europe's socialist parties, meeting in Malmo in Sweden, have sent a message of support to the Irish Labour Party ahead of the election.
The statement recalled the "historic" recent victories of socialist parties in Britain and France and said that the Irish Labour Party was largely responsible for "Ireland's amazing social and economic progress in the recent past... an example to all.
