A man who received head injuries when struck with a slash hook on Sunday night has been discharged from the Limerick Regional Hospital.

The man received the injuries during a skirmish in Kilmallock involving up to 30 members of the travelling community. i said that several a varieties of implements were used during the trouble fighting and a number of men received minor injuries. Shop windows were broken and a number of motor cars damaged during the course of the fighting. Two arrests were made but both men were later released.
