A man refused to give gardai his name after he was shot outside a house in Ballyfermot where he had gone to pick up a car, a jury has been told. A sub-machine-gun and ammunition were later recovered in school grounds nearby. Spent cartridges were also found.

The jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court was also told that a .45 calibre gun was found in an outhouse at house in Coolock. It was the fifth day of the trial of Mr Patrick Corbally (44), of Drumfinn Avenue, Ballyfermot, who has pleaded not guilty to having a firearm and ammunition on May 11th, 1997 with intent to endanger life.
