THE search of a ship from South America, detained at Castletownbere last Tuesday was being wound down last night, after a third full day of searching yielded no result, John Maher, Drugs and Crime Correspondent, reports.
Officers from the Customs National Drugs Team, gardai and Naval Service divers dismantled parts of the inside of the 700 tonne coaster, the Tia, and searched the exterior of the hull.
Although they were initially optimistic about the search, by last night officers were privately admitting that the prospects of making any discovery were now very slim.
