Sinn Fein has called for a peaceful protest against the visit to the National Concert Hall, Dublin, on Friday, of a British army band.
Dublin Sinn Fein councillor Christy Burke said the band was to take part in a joint concert with the Army No 1 Band, with the approval of the Minister for Defence, Mr Smith. He said the British army's saturation presence in South Armagh was causing huge disruption to the lives of local families.
