Three people were injured during an apparent assault in Northern Ireland last night.

One man was taken to hospital after the incident which happened at about 9.45pm in Glenside Parade off the Crumlin Road in north Belfast.

Police said two other men also sustained less serious injuries, suffering cuts and bruising to the face and head.

They urged anyone in the area who witnessed the disturbance to help their investigation.

A man was also attacked outside a bar in south Belfast last night.

Police arrested two men after the assault which happened on the Ormeau Road at around 10.15pm.

It is understood the victim, who is Polish, did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

The PSNI have also said at this stage there is nothing to suggest the assault was racially motivated.

Meanwhile, in Derry a man and a woman were recovering after an attack at about 1.50am.

A 46-year-old man was targeted in Irish Street by a group of men and a 51-year-old woman was also injured. Their injuries were not believed to be serious.
