Sentence is to be pronounced today on a man found guilty of conspiracy to cause harm to Stephen Lyne, who died in Killarney, Co Kerry, in 2009.

In Tralee Circuit Criminal Court today Judge Carroll Moran is to announce the sentence to be imposed on Martin Ollo, from Estonia but now living at Ballydribbeen, Killarney, who was convicted recently by a jury.

The prosecution had said Ollo played no active part in the teenager’s killing.

Stephen Lyne and the late Shane O’Regan and others were part of a group of teenagers who socialised together, drank alcohol and smoked cannabis in the early summer of 2009, the trial had heard.

Lotte Lyne, Stephen’s mother, yesterday delivered a victim impact statement.
