London - An advisory group of scientists is to urge the British government to allow plutonium from the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant to fuel Britain's nuclear power stations, it has been claimed. The controversial call, likely to anger environmentalists, will be made in a Royal Society re port due out in October, New Scientist has reported. Plutonium stored at Sellafield is licensed to be used in more than 30 nuclear reactors in Europe, but it has never been burned in a commercial power station in Britain.
