EDINBURGH - Two hundred years after the death of Scotland's national poet, thousands will toast the "immortal memory" of Robert Burns on Thursday with haggis, verse and whisky.
However, plans to mark the poet's death on July, 21st, 1796, with concerts seem in disarray as performers such as Dame Kiri te Kanawa and Billy Connolly have refused to take part.
