Scottish football chiefs are holding talks with their Kuwaiti counterparts in a bid to agree a compensation package for the release of their coach Berti Vogts.
But a Scottish Football Association (SFA) spokesman could not confirm reports in the British media today that a deal had already been reached with Kuwait.
"We've got nothing to say until everything in Kuwait is concluded," said the SFA spokesman. "The chief executive (David Taylor) and vice-president (John McBeth) are out there at the moment."
The SFA said last month they had agreed a contract with Vogts, who is still in charge of the Kuwait national team, to become the new Scotland manager.
They hope to have Vogts in place in time for Scotland's friendly against World Cup holders France in Paris on March 27th.
The 55-year-old former Germany coach will replace Craig Brown, who stepped down after eight years as Scotland boss last October following Scotland's failure to qualify for the World Cup finals.
