A former chairman of Dungannon District Council, Mr Ralph Brown, has been fined £200 after admitting having misleading sales price tags on items in his household goods store. Cookstown Magistrates Court was told yesterday that tags on 27 items in his shop at Scotch Street, Dungannon, indicated the prices had been reduced for last year's January sales. But a lawyer appearing for trading standards, Mr David McAughey, said this was misleading customers as the goods had not been labelled at a higher price before the sales. Mrs Bernadette Kelly, defending, said this was a "technical offence".
