Speaking to reporters in London Mr O’Leary said he had no plans to sell Ryanair’s stake in Aer Lingus.

Shares in Aer Lingus were down almost 20 per cent in Dublin today after the company said its full-year loss would be higher than expected as it reported a 16 per cent fall in first quarter revenues.

Ryanair shares were over 4 per cent lower in Dublin by 11.05am at €3.16 as airline stocks came under pressure due to concerns over the impact of swine flu on the sector.
