A judgment from the Revenue Commissioners for VAT under-payments of £420,495 would not affect Councillor Joe Burke's selection as PD candidate for East- Galway in the general election, according to a party spokeswoman.
She said that Mr Burke would attempt to sort out his company's affairs with the Revenue Commissioners next week. In a case before Mr Justice McCracken in the High Court last Tuesday, Mr Burke's company, D.H. Burke and Sons Ltd, lost an application for a judicial review of the Revenue's decision.
