RUC officers injured in Derry hijack attack

Four RUC officers were injured when petrol bombs were thrown at them after a bus was hijacked in Derry overnight.

Four RUC officers were injured when petrol bombs were thrown at them after a bus was hijacked in Derry overnight.

The bus was taken over by a number of masked men at Trench Road at about 11 p.m. It was discovered on fire a short time later at Irish Street.

The RUC officers came under attack as they tried to put out the fire. Another vehicle was hijacked later.
