Brazilian midfielder Rivaldo has declared an interest in joining Liverpool when he leaves AC Milan in January.

The 31-year-old has previously stated he wants to stay in Europe and would like a move to the Premiership if possible.

"It's true that I had conversations with Liverpool, but the negotiations haven't finished yet, so I can't add anything else," Rivaldo said in Teresopolis, where he is training with Brazil for their next two World Cup qualifiers.

"Really at this point I'm not thinking about my future. I'm just waiting for this year to finish, to see what happens next.

"In the national team I feel fine, respected, and that's a difference with what I feel in Milan."
