Review: Le Galaxie, Electric Arena

Atmosphere: What's that? It's never to early to wreck the gaff, you say? Le Galaxie seem to think so. It's 1.30pm on Saturday afternoon and A4 sheets of paper proclaiming 'TUNE' are being waved aloft.

High: A triptych of drummers running on stage for head-banging and skin bashing.

Low: Nothing really. The band's unrelenting energy is infectious.

Quote of the set:
"If anyone has seen a suitcase full of 2,000 glow sticks that's meant to be on stage right now, let us know."

Verdict: Le Galaxie are an act who have come on leaps and bounds since their inception, and right now they're a tightly honed, well-oiled Batmobile of a band. They own the stage and their loud beat and chunky-synth laden electronic music is pumped with guts and laughs.

By the time a giant 'TUNE' banner arrives on stage it's impossible not to smile and dance. Seriously fun and fun in its seriousness, but most importantly, musically astute. I for one welcome new robot electrohipster genius overloads.
