A Co Meath man charged with the murder of a UDR man nearly 30 years ago appeared in court in Enniskillen yesterday. Mr John Jordan (51), of Greenpark, Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, faces a charge of murdering Cpl Robert Thomas Moffett on March 3rd, 1974. Cpl Moffett died of head injuries after the Land Rover in which he was travelling was targeted by a land mine on the Omagh-Cookstown road.
Mr Jordan was remanded to appear before a court at Cookstown on August 24th.
