A raider “snared by DNA evidence” has been jailed for his role in an armed robbery on a Dublin building society three years ago.

Michael Chaney’s DNA was found on clothing abandoned near the EBS on Vernon Avenue, Clontarf, after a raid in 2008 in which three men made off with €3,515.

At Dublin Circuit Criminal Court Chaney (27) of Primrose Grove, Darndale, was jailed for 3½ years.
