The first of two free public lectures on addiction and its effects on individuals and families to be delivered today at Milltown Park, Dublin 6, at 7.30 p.m.
The lectures are being organised by the Rutland Centre, a residential treatment centre for alcoholism, drug dependency and compulsive gambling. The opening talk - "Alcohol and drugs: their role in the destruction of human potential" - is to be given by the centre's director, Ms Maura Russell.
