Glasgow - Anti-nuclear campaigners from around the world claimed yesterday they were preparing to storm Britain's largest nuclear submarine base in an attempt to disable the Trident weapons system.

The "Ploughshares" said they plan to use hammers, bolt cutters and other demolition tools to cut through the fences into Faslane nuclear submarine base, west of Glasgow. It is believed Faslane has now been put on high-security alert.
