LONDON - A Catholic priest appeared in court yesterday accused of stealing more than £215,000.

LONDON - A Catholic priest appeared in court yesterday accused of stealing more than £215,000.

Father Seamus Heatherton (66), faced four charges of theft at Dart ford magistrates' court, Kent. Three of the charges, concerning a total of £198,000, related to the Diocese of Southwark, and one, concerning £17,350, to a social club in his parish of Swanley, Kent. He was remanded on bail until April 29th.
