Priest issues plea on IRA beatings

Mgr Denis Faul of Dungannon has urged the IRA to end "punishment beatings" as a limited gesture in the absence of a Christmas ceasefire. Mgr Faul said the beatings and expulsions "are causing massive intimidation in both communities. They should be stopped completely by paramilitaries on both sides."
