Tegucigalpa - Hondurans, weary of high crime and poverty, voted for a new president yesterday in an election few expect will bring real change and that has been marred by the election-eve killing of an opposition candidate for Congress.

Under cloudy skies, voters turned out in large numbers in the hilly capital of Tegucigalpa. Residents drove through the normally sleepy streets waving the flags of their candidate.
