London - The humble pork pie will get a much-needed makeover today - when it is served up to diners at Royal Ascot. The pie is being re-launched as a delicacy fit to be eaten alongside champagne and caviar by opera and theatre goers. The mini pork pies will be served in tubes of five, allowing them to be slipped into clutch bags or dinner jacket pockets.
Tesco, which is behind the plan, says the pork pie will be this year's hottest fashion statement.
