Rome - When Pope John Paul II canonises Edith Stein on Sunday, October 11th, she will become the first Jewish-born woman saint of the Roman Catholic Church. Stein converted to Catholicism in 1922 and became a Carmelite nun in 1933. Nine years later, she died in Auschwitz.
