RIO DE JANEIRO - Brazilian authorities exhumed the bodies of 19 victims of a 1993 massacre yesterday so that they could be checked for bullets. Forty nine police officers are awaiting trial on charges of shooting 21 inhabitants of a Rio shantytown to avenge the death of four police officers.
