Pfizer to create 200 finance jobs in Dublin

US pharmaceutical company Pfizer is to establish its European Financial Service Centre in Dublin, creating 200 jobs.

US pharmaceutical company Pfizer is to establish its European Financial Service Centre in Dublin, creating 200 jobs.

The Tánaiste, Ms Harney, said the investment is the first of many she expects to be completed in the first quarter of the year based on the number of talks under way between the IDA and leading foreign companies.

The new European financial services centre will process transactions for the company's European operations in areas such as purchase payments, taxation and general accounting.

Pfizer employs 1,600 people in Ireland at its facilities in Cork and Dublin. It the world's largest pharmaceutical company and is ranked as the sixth-most valuable company in the world employing around 90,000 people operating in over 150 countries.
