Brendan Kennedy has been confirmed as the new Pensions Board chief executive to replace Anne Maher who is stepping down at the end of the month.

Mr Kennedy joined the Board as actuarial adviser in 2004,and prior to that he worked in life insurance and in an actuarial consultancy.

Tiarnan O Mahoney, chairman of the Board, said: "He possesses the right skill set for this demanding job which includes pensions regulation and policy advice."
