LONDON - Passive smoking does not cause lung cancer, a group of scientists announced yesterday after examining all published epidemiological studies.

Their report, which contradicts previous findings, was immediately attacked by anti smoking campaigners and cancer charities who noted it had been funded by three big tobacco companies.
