The Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Harney, has signed an order increasing the national minimum wage to £4.70 from July lst next year and to £5 an hour from October 1st 2002. The current rate is £4.40. The increases are provided for in the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness.
